Britannica’s pupils have been producing traditional Chinese style paintings in their art classes.
Year 6 students have been working in groups to produce large-scale paintings, crafting diptych or triptych scrolls in the form of beautiful collage drawings. Pupils designed their own Eastern landscapes, depicting traditional Chinese style buildings. These buildings were then combined with scenery, modern high-rise skylines and rolling hills.
The teams of burgeoning artists then learned to enlarge and scale up small images, mixing different tints and shades of colour to give their landscape depth. Pupils had great fun exploring and combining colour while exploring contemporary and traditional themes in their artwork.
