Real Madrid Foundation Technical Academy and Stamford American International School organized an event for the students featuring an up-close and personal meet and greet with Real Madrid club legend Roberto Carlos.
The event celebrates the promoting of athleticism and sportsmanship through the love of football between Real Madrid Foundation and Stamford American.
200 students, parents and VIPs enjoyed the Q&A session with the Brazilian. This was followed by a football clinic with 50 students, as the football legend played together with the U14 Boys team and the U11 Girls team, providing a once in a lifetime experience.
This year’s UN Day took place on a sunny morning with a new format and schoolwide participation. The event began as a parade of children danced down the steps to the tune of Pharrell’s song “Happy”, gathering on the pitch to a big group dance. Afterwards the school Principal Mr. Short thanked all the parents, staff and students for their hard work in putting together this event.
This year’s UN Day involved dancing, food, singing and 52 tents that showcased the best of dozens of countries and cultures. All classes showed maturity as they accepted the challenge of representing their given countries in the tents.
The children guided their parents around while explaining various facts that they had learnt during the process and the day ended up being a great success, which managed to combine fun and learning.
Grade 5 students at the Canadian International School of Singapore have been learning about great leaders in history. The students were asked to pick a leader they think has had a positive impact on society. After doing research, they wrote a short speech and performed it in the style of their great leader.
